Three Major Artworks

Since its establishment in 1954, Victor Taichung has been in business for over 67 years. The company's growth trajectory has seen peaks and valleys, similar to a mountain range. To narrate its history and envision the future, the company commissioned three artworks from renowned sculptor Master Hsieh Dong-Liang. These pieces vividly depict Victor Taichung's arduous beginnings and entrepreneurial challenges, the rapid expansion, economic downturns, and the impact of the financial crisis leading to delisting, and the subsequent successful restructuring like a phoenix rising from the ashes. The company cherishes relationships with its customers, agents, and partner manufacturers, treating them like a big family. This reflects Victor Taichung's corporate philosophy of continuous self-improvement and sustainable operation. The three major artworks are (1) Bronze Statue of Victor Taichung Founder - Mr. Huang Chi-Huang, (2) Phoenix Rising from the Ashes, and (3) Precision Circle (Connection), strategically located at the high points and winding roads of the base.

(1) Bronze Statue of Victor Taichung Founder - Mr. Huang Chi-Huang

Founder Mr. Huang Chi-Huang started the business with his bare hands. In 1954, he founded Victor Taichung with Mr. Lee Tao-Tong and Mr. Huang Teh-Chin in Taichung. The three supported each other, overcoming difficulties and working hard step by step, establishing Victor Taichung's diligent and pragmatic spirit and culture. This has made Victor Taichung synonymous with Taiwan's precision machinery industry and the home of precision machinery.

 (2) Phoenix Rising from the Ashes

Victor Taichung went public in 1990. During the rapid development of the group, it encountered the 1998 Asian financial crisis, leading to a financial crisis and delisting for restructuring. The second-generation leader, Mr. Huang Ming-He, led the staff and, with the support of customers and partners, successfully completed the restructuring in 2013, embarking on a path of rebirth.

(3) Precision Circle (Connection)

Victor Taichung's English name is derived from the last two letters of "Victor" and is a registered trademark. "OR" symbolizes the company's lathes, known for machining round workpieces, and represents OR machines sold worldwide, operating steadily around the clock, creating maximum value for customers. The circle of "OR" symbolizes the global community of Victor Taichung, including customers, agents, and partners, all united by their connection to Victor Taichung, with circles large and small, perpetually intertwining around the world.

Seven-Star Ironwood Illuminates Precision Machinery

The ceiling of the Seven-Star Gallery has openings mimicking the proportions of the Big Dipper constellation, allowing natural daylight to shine through, creating a bright environment. From above, it looks like the Big Dipper. The gallery houses thousand-year-old Taiwan Zelkova wood (also known as Taiwan Ironwood, the hardest tree species in Taiwan), washed down from the mountains during the Typhoon Morakot disaster. The Chairman purchased it, cut it into four large pieces, and distributed them: two on the fifth floor, one in the reception area, and one in front of the B-building restaurant. The Seven-Star Gallery offers a view of Taichung City, and on clear days, even the Central Mountain Range.

OR Ecological Stream

Due to the 20+ meter elevation difference of the base, an ecological stream was created to enrich the natural environment and pay homage to nature. The water source, "Gratitude Spring," symbolizes parental gratitude and remembering one's roots. The spring flows from the source, forming small waterfalls, and flows continuously due to the terrain, stopping and overflowing at various points until it reaches the "Five Blessings Pool" at the welcoming area. The flow enriches the surrounding ecology, symbolizing wealth gathering in the pool.
The water is then pumped back to the source, repeating the cycle, symbolizing Victor Taichung's perseverance and sustainable operation. The water flow creates six different forms: "surge," "drop," "run," "stagnate," "flow," and "return," symbolizing life's varied states and the philosophy of adapting to circumstances for sustainability.

Five Blessings Pool

Water from the Gratitude Spring is recycled for plant irrigation, then pumped back to the spring, symbolizing perpetual renewal. Five bald cypress trees are planted in the pool, symbolizing the Five Blessings, hence the name "Five Blessings Pool."

Victor Taichung promises to create an innovative and happy mechanical factory for employees. Providing a friendly working and resting environment is crucial for having the happiest employees. As the saying goes, "Food is the first necessity of the people," and a Taiwanese proverb says, "Eating is as important as the emperor," conveying the message that healthy and happy employees can bring more advantages to the company, effectively relieving stress, keeping a clear mind, and working more efficiently. Thus, a multi-million central kitchen, a modern and lively restaurant space, a stimulating yet elegant slide, and the OR Creative Base offer the best to every Victor Taichung employee.

Victor Taichung Cafeteria

Employee diet and health are our top priorities.

  1. The restaurant, covering over 700 ping, is the dining place for employees and the venue for monthly company meetings and annual year-end parties. It can accommodate 65 tables, seating 400 people, and during year-end parties, it can host over a thousand people with hundreds of tables.
  2. The multi-million central kitchen features imported German universal steam ovens, capable of baking 20 trays of different ingredients simultaneously, providing daily culinary shows with double main courses for employee satisfaction.
  3. The central kitchen also serves lunch to Victor Taichung's global headquarters, industrial zone plant, and subsidiary Taiwan Stability, ensuring all employees enjoy warm, delicious food, creating a sense of happiness.
Victor Taichung Slide

Sliding down releases worries and brings in creativity.
This 20-meter long, 4-meter high stainless steel slide, designed by artist Chang Kin-Fung (the same artist as Taichung's Red Dot Hotel), allows employees to relax during lunch breaks or when encountering work difficulties, sparking new ideas. It is also a stylish art piece enhancing the restaurant's lobby atmosphere.

OR Creative Base

Have a coffee, forget your worries; read a book, double your wisdom.
The first-floor reading cafe space encourages employees to enjoy coffee and a good read during breaks or after work. The second floor features audiovisual equipment and a curved stage for company clubs, such as singing and movie clubs, to host entertainment activities, promoting participation and team spirit.
